How to Apply Stickers Correctly: A Complete Guide
Applying a sticker correctly is essential for a clean, bubble-free, and long-lasting result. In this guide, we'll explain how to attach stickers with and without application tape simply and clearly.
When to use application tape and when not to
Application tape (transfer tape) is recommended when the sticker is made up of multiple separate parts, such as writing, logos or pre-spaced graphics .
Full or one-piece stickers , on the other hand, can be applied directly without application tape.
How to apply stickers with application tape
This method is ideal for composite stickers, lettering and logos.
1. Clean the surface thoroughly
The surface must be smooth, dry, and free of dust or grease. We recommend cleaning with alcohol or a mild detergent and drying thoroughly.
2. Place the sticker
Place the sticker complete with application tape in the desired position, without pressing immediately.
3. Fix the sticker
Press the sticker from the center outward using a spatula or squeegee to avoid air bubbles.
4. Remove the application tape
Slowly remove the application tape at a shallow angle (about 45°). If any pieces remain stuck to the tape, reapply the squeegee and try again slowly.
How to apply stickers without application tape
This method is suitable for simple, full or small stickers.
1. Prepare the surface
Even in this case the surface must be clean, dry and degreased.
2. Align the sticker
Position the sticker correctly before pressing, checking the alignment.
3. Press from the center towards the edges
Press with your fingers or a spatula starting from the center and working outwards to ensure the adhesive adheres well and eliminate any bubbles.
