How to apply stickers correctly: a complete guide
Applying a sticker correctly is essential to achieving a clean, bubble-free, and long-lasting result. In this guide, we explain how to apply stickers both with application tape and without, in a simple and clear way.
When to use application tape and when not to
Application tape (transfer tape) is recommended when the sticker is made up of several separate parts, such as lettering, logos, or pre-spaced graphics.
Solid or one-piece stickers, on the other hand, can be applied directly without application tape.
How to apply stickers with application tape
This method is ideal for composite stickers, lettering, and logos.
1. Clean the surface thoroughly
The surface must be smooth, dry, and free of dust or grease. We recommend cleaning it with alcohol or a mild detergent and drying it well.
2. Position the sticker
Place the sticker, complete with application tape, in the desired position without pressing down immediately.
3. Fix the sticker
Press the sticker from the center outwards using a squeegee or scraper to avoid the formation of air bubbles.
4. Remove the application tape
Slowly remove the application tape by keeping it at a low angle (about 45°). If any part remains stuck to the tape, pass over it with the squeegee again and try again calmly.
How to apply stickers without application tape
This method is suitable for simple, solid, or small stickers.
1. Prepare the surface
In this case as well, the surface must be clean, dry, and degreased.
2. Align the sticker
Position the sticker correctly before pressing, checking the alignment.
3. Press from the center to the edges
Press with your fingers or a squeegee starting from the center outwards to make the sticker adhere well and eliminate any bubbles.
