ZIPPOPIU.it at the 2025 Brescia City Trophy — The Story of a Great Night of Cycling
An evening that Brescia will never forget.
On July 1, 2025 , the 62nd edition of the Trofeo Città di Brescia – Memorial Rino Fiori and Emilio Volpi took place with great success, offering entertainment, sport and participation .
An international night race — UCI 1.2 Elite/Under-23 category — which saw dozens of riders and teams from all over Italy and abroad at the start.
ZIPPOPIU.it sponsored the event: for us it's not just a sponsorship, but a concrete sign of affection for the sport , for our city and for all those who believe in the passion of cycling.
The numbers of the race
📅 Date: July 1, 2025
🏁 Route: 21 laps of Colle Cidneo — 121.8 km total
🚴 Participants: approximately 167 runners belonging to 35 clubs
🕗 Time: Departure from the Castle at 8:15 pm , arrival around 11:00 pm
The city ring, the downtown streets, and Colle Cidneo created the perfect setting for the classic “night race,” with the allure of the city lights and the crowds packed along the entire circuit.
Giovanni Bortoluzzi's victory
The race was fought until the last metre.
After a two-man sprint, the victory went to Giovanni Bortoluzzi (General Store), who in the final sprint preceded:
2️⃣ Alexandre Balmer (Solution Tech – Vini Fantini) – st
3️⃣ Riccardo Lorello (Team Hopplà) – 10” behind
A well-deserved victory: Bortoluzzi remained calm until the final stretch, winning in front of a large and passionate crowd.
